What is designer lighting?
Designer lighting is defined as lighting that is sold and designed under a prestigious mark, like being named after a designer, founder or location. One great example of this is the fittings made by incredible and iconic names of the antique world that we offer, such as F&C Osler. Our own lighting is designed under the name Fritz Fryer, named after original owner David Fryer (nicknamed Fritz), who opened our first shop in 1982.

What are some popular locations to feature designer lighting?
Designer fittings should be on display for everyone to enjoy, taking centre place in a room and creating a great talking point. Here are a few suggestions of some great places you could include designer lights.
Kitchen
The kitchen island is a very popular location for lighting, particularly for chandeliers or pendant lights. When matched with the decor and style of the kitchen, designer lighting over the island can provide practical lighting for preparing food as well as a cohesive and decorative feature piece.
Stairwell
This is the connection between levels in your home, making it an important area that deserves beautiful designer lighting. When lighting the stairwell in a period property, including a high quality light fitting, such as a GEC electrolier, is a great way to add a touch of stunning design.
Alternatively, that same “wow” factor can be achieved with a modern cluster light that has been specifically designed for your home and style.
